Jharkhand floods inundate Medininagar, Jamshedpur as rivers swell
There was a big flood in a part of India called Jharkhand.
It happened because it rained a lot without stopping.
The rain made the rivers grow very big and full.
The water spilled out of the rivers and into towns called Medininagar and Jamshedpur.
More than 200 houses in one part of Medininagar were covered with water.
Roads also filled up with water, which made it hard for people to move around.
In Jamshedpur, two rivers rose higher than the safe level.
Officials asked everyone to stay away from the rivers so they would be safe.
They are keeping a close watch on the water and hope it will go down later in the day.
Several areas in Medininagar and Jamshedpur in Jharkhand were inundated as rivers swollen by incessant rainfall entered localities.
Water from the North Koel River entered Kandu Mohalla in Medininagar early on Friday morning, submerging over 200 houses.
The Kharkhai and Subarnarekha rivers were flowing above the danger level in Jamshedpur since Thursday night.
An NGO office-bearer said floodwaters entered over 250 houses in low-lying areas including Bagbeda Naya Basti, Pradhan Tola and Shivnagar.
District administrations in Palamu and East Singhbhum alerted residents and advised people not to venture near the swollen rivers.
