Delhi PG Collapse Exposes Safety Lapses at Hostels
After Delhi's Satya Niketan PG Building Collapse, Safety Lapses Found At 2 More Hostels Run By Same Operator · freepressjournal.in

A building used as a paying guest facility collapsed in Delhi on Sunday.

At least six people died, and 12 people were rescued.

After the collapse, reporters examined two nearby hostels run by the same company.

One hostel reportedly had a passage only about two feet wide.

Its iron gate was also closed, which could make escaping difficult.

Electrical wires were reportedly hanging around both hostels.

The area reportedly does not allow buildings taller than three floors, but many buildings are four or five storeys high.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi ordered illegal buildings exceeding four floors to be sealed.
