Jaishankar Heads to New York for UNGA 2026 Session
S Jaishankar is India’s External Affairs Minister.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Zurich while traveling to New York for the 81st United Nations General Assembly session.
India’s Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Mridul Kumar, welcomed Jaishankar at Zurich airport.
Kumar briefed Jaishankar on recent developments, including high-level visits involving India, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The General Assembly’s high-level General Debate is scheduled for September 22–28 under the theme “Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all.”
The session will address international cooperation, conflicts, development, climate change, humanitarian challenges and the Sustainable Development Goals.
