Yogi Frames Rakshabandhan As Commitment To Women's Safety
Rakshabandhan is a festival when sisters tie a special thread called a Rakhi on their brothers’ wrists.
Yogi Adityanath said the festival also teaches people to care for and protect sisters and daughters.
He connected this message with values such as respect, equality, friendship, and social unity.
He said Uttar Pradesh government programs are intended to help women remain safe, educated, supported, and financially independent.
These programs include Mission Shakti and the Kanya Sumangala Yojana.
Women will also receive free bus travel in Uttar Pradesh from August 27 to August 29.
The Chief Minister asked people to thank police, security forces, and disaster-relief workers by tying Rakhis to them.
He also encouraged everyone to purchase locally made Rakhis and gifts.
