Telangana Employees Plan CPS Protest and Chalo Hyderabad Rally
Telangana government employees are planning protests about their pension and pay-related concerns.
They want the Contributory Pension Scheme, or CPS, to be removed.
They want the older pension system, called the Old Pension Scheme, brought back.
They will mark September 1 as “CPS Betrayal Day.”
Employees plan to wear black badges and protest near government offices during lunchtime.
On September 6, workers from across Telangana will travel to Hyderabad.
They will hold a meeting at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally.
They will also ask the government to implement Pay Revision Commission recommendations and pay overdue Dearness Allowance instalments.
The group said it may plan further action if its demands are not addressed.
The Telangana Employees JAC will observe September 1 as “CPS Betrayal Day” across the state.
Employees have been asked to wear black badges and protest outside government offices during lunchtime.
The JAC is demanding abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.
Employees will hold “Chalo Hyderabad” demonstrations on September 6, followed by a public meeting at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally.
The JAC is also seeking implementation of pending Pay Revision Commission recommendations and payment of Dearness Allowance arrears.
