Metro Work Squeezes Road Space, Raises Traffic Concerns In Indore · freepressjournal.in

Indore is building a metro, which is a special train that goes underground.

Digging and building the metro takes up a lot of space on the roads.

That means there is less room for cars, buses and people to move around.

Near Nagar Nigam, one whole side of the road is now being used for the metro work.

The other side is divided into two very narrow lanes for cars going in opposite directions.

Because the road is so narrow, vehicles get stuck and traffic jams happen every day.

The head of the metro company, Mr. S Krishna Chaitanya, visited the construction sites on Sunday morning to check on the work.

He said safety must be the most important thing and asked for clear signs and diversion routes.

Even though traffic is difficult right now, the metro keeps being built to give the city better transport in the future.
