Telangana High Court initiates suo motu contempt against HYDRAA Commissioner · thehansindia.com

A court in Telangana, called the High Court, got very upset with a government agency named HYDRAA.

HYDRAA knocked down a wall on people's property without telling them first.

The landowners said no one warned them before the wall was destroyed.

They also said the court had earlier told officials not to touch their land.

The judge, Justice Shravan Kumar, asked why HYDRAA was acting like its own separate government.

He said it seems to have become normal for officials to break things first and say sorry later.

The judge thought this was very serious.

So the court started contempt proceedings against HYDRAA's Commissioner, AV Ranganath.

Contempt means he may be punished for not respecting the court's authority.

The court sent him a notice to explain his actions.
