University Launches Women’s Safety Survey Ahead of Godavari Pushkaralu
Adikavi Nannaya University is asking women about places and situations where they feel unsafe.
The survey includes problems such as harassment, stalking, theft and poor lighting.
It also asks whether women report problems and whether officials help them.
University teams will study the answers and share them with the police and district administration.
The work is being done before Godavari Pushkaralu, a large religious gathering.
Students will be trained to help visitors at the river and temples.
They will also guide people to food, water and health services.
Officials may advise visitors not to carry much cash or wear valuable gold ornaments.
