Jana Sena MPs urge JNVs in every Andhra Pradesh district
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are special schools run by the central government.
They give free, good-quality education and boarding to talented children, especially those from villages.
Andhra Pradesh is a big state in India.
A few years ago, the state was redrawn into more districts.
After that, some districts did not have a Navodaya school, while others did.
That meant some talented village children could not easily get into these schools.
Two lawmakers from the Jana Sena Party asked the central government to build a Navodaya school in every district.
They met the Union education minister in New Delhi to make this request.
They hope the new schools will welcome students from the 2027-28 school year.
The state government promised to give land and help with buildings and paperwork.
Jana Sena Party MPs Lingamaneni Ramesh and Uday Srinivas urged the Centre to establish a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in every district of Andhra Pradesh.
The MPs submitted a representation to Union education minister Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi.
They asked that admissions and academic activities begin from the 2027-28 academic year in a phased manner.
Following the reorganisation of districts, several districts still lack a JNV, leaving rural meritorious students with unequal access.
The state government offered land, temporary accommodation, infrastructure and administrative support and sought a joint meeting during the monsoon session.
