Minister Surekha Urges Citizens to Join Climate Fight
Minister Konda Surekha asked people to help fight climate change by planting trees.
She said planting a tree is not enough because people must also care for it.
She encouraged every household to grow at least one sapling.
Government officials will continue planting trees during the rainy season.
Schools and offices were also asked to join the effort.
Students may make seed balls to help grow more plants.
The minister said trees provide clean air and help protect water.
She also recommended planting shade-giving trees that grow well locally.
Konda Surekha urged every household to plant, protect and nurture at least one sapling.
She said plantation drives would continue through September and possibly into October during the monsoon.
Officials were directed to achieve at least 10 percent of plantation targets immediately.
Schools, offices and households were asked to participate in tree-planting efforts.
Surekha linked tree protection to cleaner air, water, ecological balance and action against climate change.
