Cyndi Lauper to Perform at 9/11 Tribute in NYC
Cyndi Lauper will sing at a special event in New York City.
The event remembers people who died in the September 11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
It will happen under two bright beams called the Tribute in Light.
The beams represent the Twin Towers that fell.
This year marks 25 years since the 2001 attacks.
Lauper said she remembers being outside the city and trying to get back to her family.
Other musicians, including Lainey Wilson and John Ondrasik, will also perform.
The event will be shown live across the United States for the first time.
Relatives of victims will read the names of those who died.
Cyndi Lauper will close the Tribute in Light: Live from Lower Manhattan on September 11.
The program will mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks and air live nationally for the first time.
Lainey Wilson and John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting will also perform during the one-hour broadcast.
David Muir, Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer will host the tribute, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
Families will read the names of 2,983 victims at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza, while blue lights commemorate the attacks.
