West Bengal has started a new system for responding to emergencies.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched it in Kolkata.

The system received 450 cars and 450 motorcycles.

Adhikari said police in the state often take much longer to respond than police in Kolkata.

He wants every police station to get four cars and four motorcycles within a year.

The government has approved hiring 1,500 drivers for the vehicles.

He also said more than 11,000 constables would be appointed before Durga Puja.

He wants police stations to have better facilities and emergency teams to work together.
