Visakhapatnam Transport Department Targets Rule-Violating Private Buses

The transport department checked private buses in Visakhapatnam.

The checks lasted for three days.

Officials found that 48 bus operators had broken transport rules.

Some buses did not have valid permits.

Others did not follow their permit conditions or had not paid required taxes.

Some buses also had emergency doors that did not work.

The operators were fined a total of Rs.5,24,600.

Officials said they will continue checking buses to help keep passengers safe.
