Officials found frozen chicken and mutton without dates showing when they were stored.

About 10 to 15 kilograms of this meat was taken away.

It was destroyed so nobody could eat it.

The officials also warned traders to follow food-safety rules.

Similar checks were carried out at restaurants, sweet shops, and food stalls in other parts of Kolkata.
