Early in the morning, people in a big industrial area in Dubai heard very loud noises, like giant explosions, and saw flames and huge clouds of dark smoke.

This happened near a very important place called Jebel Ali Port, where ships carry goods from all over the world.

The reports said at least seven loud booms happened within about twenty minutes.

No one knows for sure who or what caused the loud noises.

No group has said "we did this," so it remains a mystery.

The police in Dubai arrested two people who were recording the fire with their phones.

Around the same time, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, was talking about peace talks with Iran and Oman.

He said a very important sea route called the Strait of Hormuz might open very soon.

He also warned that if Iran did not make a deal, it would be "hit really hard."

Some countries are trying to make a peaceful agreement so ships can travel safely again.

Donald Trump

United States President

“"Iran, as an example, will never have a nuclear weapon. They already can't, but they'll--it's going to be formal. The strait's going to be open very soon, or they're going to get hit very hard, and then the strait's going to be open."”
