LPG e-KYC Deadline: What Happens If You Miss It?
Many people in India cook with gas that comes in big cylinders called LPG.
The government wants to make sure the right people get these cylinders at a cheaper, domestic price.
So everyone must prove who they are using a special identity check called e-KYC.
The last day to finish this check is August 16, 2026.
If you do not finish it in time, you will not lose your gas connection forever.
But you might have to pay a higher price for gas, like businesses do.
A home cylinder costs about ₹942 in Delhi, while a bigger commercial cylinder costs over ₹2,700.
If you already did the check before, you do not need to do it again.
You can finish the check at home using an app, at the gas shop, or with the delivery person.
So it is a good idea to finish the check before the deadline!
LPG consumers who have not completed e-KYC by August 16, 2026 may become ineligible for cylinders at domestic rates until verification is completed.
Missing the deadline will not permanently cancel an LPG connection, though the connection may be temporarily suspended until e-KYC is done.
Consumers who lose domestic-rate eligibility could face commercial LPG rates, which are substantially higher in August 2026.
Domestic 14.2-kg cylinders cost between ₹941.50 (Mumbai) and ₹968 (Kolkata), while commercial 19-kg cylinders cost between ₹2,691.50 and ₹2,906.
e-KYC can be completed via the IndianOil ONE app, at an LPG distributor, or through delivery personnel; those who already completed Aadhaar-based e-KYC need not repeat it.

Quotes
Indian Oil representative
A spokesperson from the national oil marketing company
“Dear customer, you are required to do e‑KYC for receiving LPG cylinder at domestic rates. Despite earlier reminders, you have not done your e‑KYC so far. Failure to do e‑KYC by 16.08.26 would make you ineligible for cylinders at domestic rates till e‑KYC is completed.”
