Maoists Surrender in Telangana and Odisha
In Telangana, eight members of a group called the CPI Maoist Party decided to stop their violent activities and gave themselves up to the police.
They included leaders and workers from different parts of the group.
The police chief promised to help them start new lives with money and support.
Most of these people are from a village in Chhattisgarh, and one is from Telangana.
The police chief also asked other members of the group still hiding to come forward and surrender, promising them help to live better lives.
In Odisha, nine Maoists, including seven women, surrendered in neighboring Chhattisgarh.
This made Nabarangpur district in Odisha free from Maoist activity.
The group had a combined reward of Rs 47 lakh.
Now, Maoist activity in Odisha is limited to seven districts.
The central government aims to end Maoism by March 31, 2026.
