Maharashtra Forms SIT To Probe Kalyan Government Land Transfers
The Maharashtra government is investigating what may have happened to government grazing land in six Kalyan villages.
About 174 acres and 22 gunthas of land are involved.

Investigators will examine land records, mutations, Class-I conversions, unearned income calculations and related official orders.
The SIT will scrutinize subsequent transactions involving developers and institutions under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966, and other laws.
The committee must submit its findings and recommendations to the Maharashtra government within 30 days.
