HP, Sarvam Bring Indian-Language Voice AI to PCs

HP makes computers, and Sarvam is an Indian company that makes smart AI helpers that understand many Indian languages.

The two companies decided to work together so people in India can talk to their computers in their own language instead of typing in English.

The first result of this partnership is Kivi, a voice application that will come pre-installed on new HP laptops.

Kivi lets people speak to their computer to write text, rewrite sentences, search for information, or get help with their work.

It understands more than 22 Indian languages and can switch between languages mid-sentence, just like people do in everyday conversation.

This makes computers easier to use for people who find typing difficult or who prefer speaking over typing.

It could help students dictate notes, professionals draft documents, and anyone use their computer in the language they feel most comfortable with.

Kivi is more than a regular voice assistant because it works across different applications to help with everyday tasks.

HP and Sarvam plan to explore even more AI features together in the future, going beyond voice.
