Mumbai BMC Opens Emergency Control Room for Anant Chaturdashi
Mumbai is preparing for Anant Chaturdashi, an important day when many Ganesh idols are immersed.
A new emergency control room will operate at Girgaon Chowpatty.
It will help different emergency and civic teams work together quickly.
These teams include the police, firefighters, doctors, rescue workers and municipal officials.
Screens will show live pictures from cameras in the area.
Two drones will watch the crowd and immersion activities from above.
Local civic workers practiced what to do if there is a fire or someone falls into the sea.
The goal is to keep devotees safe and make the immersion arrangements run smoothly.
