Bihar CM Surveys Flood-Hit Areas, Reviews Relief Operations
Bihar is facing serious flooding in several areas.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary flew over affected places to see the situation himself.
He also visited a camp where displaced families were receiving food, medical care, water, and shelter.
The camp included arrangements for children and animals.
Officials said much of the floodwater came from Nepal’s Terai region.
The Ganga was still above its danger level, but its water was slowly going down.
The chief minister asked officials to keep providing food, boats, medicine, and other help.
He also said eligible families should receive ₹7,000 before Dussehra and that rescue work should continue until people can safely return home.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary conducted aerial surveys of flood-affected areas in West Champaran and Saran districts.
He inspected a relief camp in Bathna, reviewing food, medical care, drinking water, sanitation, accommodation, and animal-care facilities.
Officials reported high flood levels in several locations, while the Ganga remained above the danger mark but was gradually receding.
Choudhary directed officials to maintain community kitchens, provide boats and relief supplies, monitor embankments, and continue NDRF and SDRF deployments.
He ordered identification of affected families and payment of ₹7,000 in ex-gratia assistance to each family before Dussehra.
