Bihar is dealing with flooding after heavy rain in Nepal and nearby parts of the state.
The Gandak River has flooded some low-lying areas.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary visited affected areas and checked the river levels and embankments.
He told officials to stay ready for emergencies.
The Gandak Barrage released a very large amount of water, but the flow later began to decrease.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary reviewed flooding in East Champaran and Gopalganj on Monday.
The Gandak River inundated low-lying areas, while its discharge at Valmikinagar fell after peaking at 5,43,500 cusecs.
Officials said the Gandak’s peak water level would take time to move through downstream areas.
Rivers including the Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati and Lalbakeya were reported above danger marks at several locations.
Boats and community kitchens were deployed, while about 82,000 people had been affected in Supaul and West Champaran during the previous flood wave.
