Delhi Taxi Fare Dispute Ends in Murder of Newcomer
Anand Ram came to Delhi with his wife and children hoping to find work.
One night, he and a friend took a taxi after drinking in Gurgaon.
Police said Anand could not pay the fare, and an argument began with the driver.
The driver allegedly attacked Anand near Naraina Chowk and left him there.
The driver’s wife and son were also accused of helping move the body.
Police found a tattoo with the names Anand and Renu on his arm.
For about two weeks, no one knew who he was.

Anand’s family returned to Almora after his cremation.
A 30-year-old man, later identified as Anand Ram, was found murdered at Naraina Chowk on August 17.
Police said taxi driver Rajinder Kumar attacked Anand after a dispute over an unpaid fare initially agreed at Rs 1,000.
Rajinder, his wife Kamini Makhija and son Lakshya were arrested for allegedly dumping Anand’s body and concealing his belongings.
Investigators identified the taxi by examining footage from around 500 CCTV cameras.
Anand remained unidentified for about two weeks before Gurgaon Police connected him to a missing-person complaint through his heart-shaped tattoo and photograph.
