EPFO Processed 8.3 Crore Claims In FY26; Cancelled Cheque Upload No Longer Required · timesnownews.com

EPFO is the government office that looks after retirement savings for workers in India.

When workers want their money, they send in a claim.

In the last financial year, EPFO finished about 6 crore of these requests.

This year, it finished more than 8 crore requests, which is a very big jump.

The government also made it easier to ask for money.

Earlier, people had to upload a photo of a cancelled cheque or their bank passbook.

If the photo was blurry or hard to read, the request could be rejected.

Now, bank details are checked using EPFO's own computer systems.

So no upload is needed anymore.

About 7 crore people have already benefited from this simpler process.
