Mumbai Couple Asks Ganpati Visitors for Stationery, Not Sweets
Skip the Sweets, Bring Stationery: This Mumbai Couple’s Ganpati Request Will Help 400 Kids · thebetterindia.com

Pooja and Dipesh Dedhia are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi by asking visitors to bring school supplies instead of presents.

They want to collect notebooks, pencils, colours and other useful items.

These supplies will become kits for about 400 children at a school in Khadavali.

The children will be able to use the kits during the school year.

Last year, the couple made 40 kits for children in an underserved community.

They also serve breakfast to more than 100 people every Sunday.

They have continued this breakfast effort for 167 Sundays in a row.

People who live far away can also help by contacting the couple or contributing through a vendor.
