Nasrin Urges Uniform Civil Code for India, Bangladesh, Pakistan

Taslima Nasrin, a writer from Bangladesh who lives in exile, spoke in Kolkata about a law called the Uniform Civil Code.

She said that this law would make everyone follow the same rules, which would help women who face unfair treatment.

Nasrin also said that schools run by religious groups in Bangladesh are not good and should be replaced by state schools.

She wants the political leaders in Bangladesh to return and bring democracy back.

During her talk, some people were upset and stopped a poet from speaking, which made Nasrin feel insulted.
