The government of India helps states pay for schools through a program called Samagra Shiksha.

One kind of school it pays for is called a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, or KGBV for short.

The government approved 736 of these schools for the state of Telangana.

Twenty-six of those schools will be in a place called Medak district.

India's Education Minister, Pralhad Joshi, shared this news in Parliament.

He was answering a question from a lawmaker named M Raghunandan Rao.

Telangana also gives students free meals at school through a program called PM POSHAN.

The meals include fine rice, eggs three times a week, and a drink called Ragi Java three times a week.

Every eligible student gets one hot cooked meal on every school day.

The government also checks schools regularly to make sure the food is clean and healthy.
