Very early on Friday morning, a man named Tushar Bhumkar was riding in a fast car called an SUV on a big road called the Pune–Mumbai Expressway.

The SUV was going towards the city of Mumbai.

It crashed into the back of a small truck called a mini truck.

Mr. Bhumkar, who was sitting next to the driver, was badly hurt and died.

He was 35 years old and worked for a political group called the Congress party in an area called Pimpri-Chinchwad.

His wife had also run in a local city election for the Congress party.

Six other people were hurt too, including the truck's driver and cleaner, but their injuries were small and they are getting better in the hospital.

The police think the car was driving too fast, which is probably why the crash happened.

The driver of the SUV has been charged with not driving carefully, and the police are still checking exactly what happened.
