Uttarakhand Students Explore West Bengal Through Yuva Sangam
Fifty students from Uttarakhand travelled to IIT Kharagpur with five teachers.
They are taking part in a programme called Yuva Sangam.
It helps students learn about places and people in another Indian state.
The group will visit cultural sites, including Belur Math and Bishnupur.
They will also see the Sundarbans and learn about its mangrove ecosystem and wildlife.
The schedule includes visits to an industrial park and a tribal village.
Students are expected to meet West Bengal’s governor and the director of IIT Kharagpur.
The programme is scheduled to end on October 13, after which the group will head home.
A delegation of 50 students from Uttarakhand and five HNBGU faculty members visited IIT Kharagpur for Yuva Sangam Phase VII.
IIT Kharagpur is West Bengal’s nodal higher education institution for the programme.
The itinerary includes visits to Kolkata landmarks, the Sundarbans, Belur Math, an industrial park and Bishnupur.
Students are also scheduled to meet West Bengal Governor R N Ravi and IIT Kharagpur Director Suman Chakraborty.
The programme includes an interaction at a tribal village and activities around Digha–Tajpur before ending October 13.
