Minister Says Government Initiatives Cut Unemployment Rate to 3.2 Percent

Minister L Murugan said the unemployment rate in India has gone down from 6 percent to 3.2 percent.

He said government programs helped create more work opportunities.

He also said the number of startups grew from about 400 in 2014 to more than 2.5 lakh.

Startups can create jobs for other people, not just for their founders.

More than 12.75 lakh appointment letters have been given through Rozgar Melas.

The minister encouraged young people to keep learning and use new technologies.

He said areas such as space technology and atomic energy may offer more opportunities.

He also asked new government employees to serve citizens honestly, responsibly, and kindly.
