This has reduced water in hydroelectric dams and increased electricity demand.

The previous government had canceled a long-term power purchase agreement, which is now causing a shortage.

The state is buying expensive electricity to meet the demand.

The minister also addressed criticisms and said the issues can be resolved through discussions.
