Tripura CM urges against politicizing DGP's death case
The Director General of Police (DGP) in Tripura, Anurag Dhankar, was found dead in his office washroom on July 20.
The Chief Minister, Manik Saha, has asked political parties not to make this a political issue and said the government has set up a team to investigate the death.
However, the opposition, led by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, wants a judge from the Tripura High Court to lead the investigation.
Dhankar was a well-known officer who had worked on important cases like the Punjab National Bank fraud and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
