Anthropic Confirms Claude Chatbot Outage, Fix Rolled Out, Services Restored
Claude is a smart computer helper made by a company called Anthropic.
One day, lots of people around the world could not use it, and it got very slow.
Hundreds of users in many countries reported that Claude was not working.
A website that tracks problems, called Downdetector, showed many people complaining in the US and in India.
The company said yes, Claude was having a rough day and several of its models were not working well.
They worked hard to find the problem and fix it.
They later said everything was fixed and Claude was working again.
They are still watching to make sure everything stays okay.
It is a good reminder that even smart computer helpers can sometimes have a bad day.
Hundreds of users worldwide reported problems accessing Anthropic's Claude chatbot, with nearly 400 complaints logged globally on Downdetector.com.
Downdetector.in recorded more than 300 reports from users in India, while a later article cited nearly 380 reports between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Anthropic confirmed the outage, saying several of its AI models, including Mythos 5, Fable 5, Opus 5 and Sonnet 5, experienced degraded performance.
The disruption began early morning for users in the US, and Times Now Tech independently verified that Claude was unavailable on its end.
Anthropic said it implemented a fix, all services have been restored, all models are fully operational, and it identified and solved the cause of elevated error rates affecting Claude Opus 5.
