NHRC Seeks Telangana Report on Section 22-A Land Disputes
The National Human Rights Commission, or NHRC, is asking the Telangana government for information about disputed land records.
A complaint says many privately owned lands and house plots were placed on a list that prevents certain transactions.
This reportedly happened when records moved from the Dharani portal to the Bhu-Bharati portal.
The complaint says owners were not told beforehand.
It also says the required public gazette notice was not issued.
Because of the restrictions, some owners reportedly cannot sell or borrow money using their properties.
