The scheme creates official records for homes and other private properties in rural villages.

Officials have already prepared 68.47 lakh rights records in 41,568 villages.

About 50 lakh properties will be registered without charging the owners.

The government will pay the stamp and registration costs.

Camps will be held at local panchayat offices in three rounds.

Some patwaris are worried they could face legal trouble, but the Revenue Department says they should not have problems if they do their work correctly.
