Maharashtra RTOs Deploy 600 Body Cameras For Transparent Enforcement
Maharashtra has given transport officers about 600 special cameras.
The officers can wear them during vehicle checks and other enforcement work.
The cameras record what happens between officials and motorists.
They may also record Marathi language tests for taxi and autorickshaw drivers.
This can help show what really happened if people disagree later.

Maharashtra’s Transport Department has distributed around 600 body cameras across RTOs statewide.
Each Regional Transport Office received approximately 10 cameras for inspections, roadside checks, and licence or permit actions.
The devices can record enforcement interactions, Marathi language tests, and other official proceedings.
Cameras include GPS, 4G live streaming, dual cameras, infrared night vision, and up to 12 hours of battery life.
Officials said recordings could improve accountability and help resolve disputes involving motorists and RTO personnel.
