Rifle Coach Arrested Following Family Deaths On Godavari
Police arrested a rifle-shooting coach named Sheikh Sadikh Khan.
The arrest followed the deaths of three members of a family near the Godavari River.
A 10-year-old boy survived after fishermen rescued him.
Police first thought the incident was a family suicide.
They later found notes that allegedly named Khan.
The notes accused him of threatening and harassing Soujanya.
They also alleged that he poisoned her husband and forced her to read Islamic books.
Police are still investigating these claims, and Khan has not been found guilty.
Andhra Pradesh Police arrested rifle-shooting coach Sheikh Sadikh Khan in Meerut on August 22.
Soujanya, her parents and her 10-year-old son allegedly jumped into the Godavari near Rajahmundry on August 16.
The three adults died, while fishermen rescued the surviving boy.
Police say alleged suicide notes accused Khan of harassment, threats, extortion and involvement in Soujanya’s husband’s death.
Khan faces allegations including murder, criminal intimidation, abetment of suicide and forced conversion, but remains legally presumed innocent.
