NEROCA beat nine-man Raengdai 3-1 to end Durand Cup campaign

Two football teams, NEROCA FC and FC Raengdai, played a match in a big tournament called the Durand Cup in the city of Imphal.

Raengdai scored first when Jonah Kamei kicked the ball into the goal in the 19th minute.

NEROCA got one goal back when a Raengdai player accidentally kicked the ball into his own net.

Then Raengdai got into trouble: one player was sent off for a dangerous high boot, and another received two yellow cards.

That meant Raengdai had to play the last half hour with only nine players against NEROCA's eleven.

NEROCA used that advantage and scored twice near the very end of the match.

Substitute Linky Meitei headed in a goal in the 89th minute, and Renedy Meitei scored again in stoppage time.

The final score was 3-1 to NEROCA.

NEROCA finished the group with four points, while Raengdai moved on to the quarterfinals with six points.

A Raengdai player named Midul Doley won the Group D Emerging Player award and a prize of 1 lakh rupees.
