Indore Leaders Sweep Streets During Sanitation Workers’ Goga Navami Holiday
Indore’s sanitation workers had a day off after celebrating Goga Navami.
They usually help keep the city clean throughout the year.
While they were away, the mayor, city officials, councillors and community groups used brooms to clean public places.
The campaign began near the historic Rajwada area.
Residents were also encouraged to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
The effort was called the ‘Hum Bhi Swachhagrahi’ campaign.
It was meant to show appreciation for sanitation workers.
It also showed how people can work together to care for their city.
Indore’s sanitation workers took a holiday on September 6 after Goga Navami celebrations.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, officials, councillors and social organisations joined citywide cleaning drives.
The ‘Hum Bhi Swachhagrahi Maha Janbhagidari Abhiyan’ began at the historic Rajwada area.
Participants swept streets and public spaces to keep cleanliness services uninterrupted.
The Indore Municipal Corporation urged residents and civic representatives to help maintain neighbourhood cleanliness.
