Delhi BJP pays tributes to Vajpayee, inaugurates Atal Canteens

People in Delhi remembered a very important leader named Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He was a former Prime Minister of India.

It was the eighth year since he passed away.

Even the President and the Prime Minister of India paid their respects at his memorial.

The leader of the BJP in Delhi, Harsh Malhotra, put flowers at the memorial with other leaders and sports stars.

They also opened new places called Atal Canteens, which give meals to people who need them.

The meals cost just five rupees, and on this special day they were free.

The idea is that nobody in Delhi should go to bed hungry.

The government also wants to help women by giving them money every month and giving free cooking gas to some families during festivals.
