Ancy Sojan Wins Asian Games Long Jump Silver Again
Ancy Sojan is an Indian long jumper from Kerala.
She competed at the 2026 Asian Games.
She led the women’s final for most of the competition.
In the last round, China’s Huang Yingying jumped 6.55 metres.
Sojan’s best jump was 6.53 metres, so she missed gold by two centimetres.
This earned her a second consecutive Asian Games silver medal.
Earlier in 2026, Sojan broke India’s long-jump record.
She also works in the Indian Navy and trains in Navi Mumbai.
Ancy Sojan won silver in the women’s long jump at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
China’s Huang Yingying won gold with a final-round jump of 6.55 metres, beating Sojan’s 6.53m by two centimetres.
Sojan led for most of the final after opening with 6.49m and improving in the fifth round.
China’s Tan Mengyi took bronze with 6.46m, moving India’s Shaili Singh into fourth.
Sojan previously won Asian Games silver and broke India’s national record with a 6.88m jump in June 2026.
