Maharashtra Film City Unveils New Studios, Safety And Services
Maharashtra’s Film City is getting new facilities for people who make movies and television shows.
Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar said it is an important workplace for the state’s art and culture.
A newly improved Studio No.
1 was opened.
The government says it wants to make the site a modern production centre.
Two ambulances were added, giving Film City three ambulances in total.
A free bus service to the site has also started.
A new fire-fighting system will protect 15 studios and nearby buildings and areas.
Shelar also opened a photography exhibition about Bollywood’s visual history.
Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar called Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari Maharashtra’s “karmabhoomi” of art and culture.
Studio No. 1 was inaugurated as part of efforts to develop Chitranagari into a modern production centre.
Two ambulances were provided, bringing the site’s total to three, and a free bus service was launched.
An advanced fire-fighting system now covers 15 studios and several surrounding facilities.
Shelar also opened the photography exhibition “Lens and Legacy: Bollywood’s Visual Journey.”
