Chennai on Yellow Alert for Rain
The weather department has said that there will be some rain in Chennai and nearby places on Saturday.
They have given a yellow alert, which means people should be careful but it's not a very serious warning.
The rain is expected to be light to moderate.
Other areas like Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and a few more places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will also get rain.
After the rain, the weather is expected to clear up.
The next two days might have some rain, but from January 27 onwards, the weather should be better with partly cloudy skies and temperatures rising to around 30°C–31°C by the end of the week.
Chennai and several other parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are expected to receive light to moderate rain on January 24.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for these areas.
Areas affected include Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, and Puducherry's Karaikal.
The alert indicates residents should be cautious but it is not a severe warning.
The weather is expected to clear up after the rain, with light rain possible on January 26 and partly cloudy skies from January 27 onwards, and temperatures rising to 30°C–31°C by the end of the week.
