Vijay Seeks Review of Metro Projects and Faster Funding
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help move several transport projects forward.
These include Metro projects in Madurai and Coimbatore, as well as other proposed rail links.
He also asked for faster funding for infrastructure and support for a proposed river-linking project.
Vijay spoke at an event in Chennai where projects worth Rs 13,000 crore were inaugurated or launched.
He said his government wants Tamil Nadu to become a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036.
He also said development should benefit every district, not just Chennai.
Vijay described young people as an important strength for the state.
He said cooperation between the Union and State governments should improve people’s lives.

Vijay called for early Central funding for Chennai Metro Phase III, the Hosur–Bengaluru Metro link, and the Madurai and Coimbatore projects.
He sought priority for the proposed Cauvery–Godavari river-linking project and action on Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure needs.
