India Dominates Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in New Delhi
A big table‑tennis competition was held in New Delhi on Sunday.
Ankur Bhattacharjee beat Payas Jain to win the men's singles title, and Yashaswini Ghorpade beat Sreeja Akula to win the women's singles title.
India won almost every gold medal, but Malaysia won the men's doubles.
Indian pairs also won the women's doubles and mixed doubles.
The event showed how strong India is in table tennis.
Ankur Bhattacharjee won the men's singles, defeating Payas Jain 11‑9 in a 7‑set match.
Yashaswini Ghorpade captured the women's singles, beating Sreeja Akula 13‑11 after a 5‑set contest.
India secured all but one gold medal, with Malaysia taking the men's doubles title.
Indian pairs won women's doubles (Sreeja Akula/Syndrela Das) and mixed doubles (Manav Thakkar/Taneesha Kotecha).
The men's doubles final saw Malaysia’s Shen Qi Wong and Javen Choong defeat the world No.2 Indian pair in straight games.
