Andhra Pradesh Assembly to Convene August 17, Key Bills Tabled

The state of Andhra Pradesh has a big meeting called the Assembly.

This meeting will start on August 17 and will last for four days.

The people in charge plan to talk about and vote on some new laws.

One law they might remove is called the Disha Act, which was made to protect women.

The central government of India told them to remove it because some parts did not match national rules.

They also want to create a new law to keep women safe.

Another idea is to set aside 34 out of every 100 seats in village and town councils for people from communities known as Backward Classes.

They also want people to directly vote for the mayors of big cities.

A special officer named Rajiv Ranjan Mishra is talking to people all over the state to learn what they need.

His report will help the government make its decisions.
