Shringhari, Ravi Lead on Day 1 of Sailing Regatta
The 6th YAI Secunderabad Club GMR Sports Youth Open Regatta started on Tuesday at Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad.
The day began with light rain, which the sailors saw as a good sign.
The weather then improved to near-perfect conditions for racing.
The top sailors in the Optimist fleets did very well.
Shringhari Roy from the Secunderabad Sailing Club leads the girls' fleet, while B. Ravi Kumar from TSA leads the boys' fleet.
There were six races in total, with three in the morning and three in the afternoon.
The race organizers were happy with how the day went.
The youngest sailors had some trouble starting on time, but everything went smoothly in the end.

India’s top-ranked Optimist sailors dominated their fleets, with Shringhari Roy leading the girls and B. Ravi Kumar leading the boys.
Six races were completed, three in the forenoon and three in the afternoon, with each class having three races.
Race organizers Ajay Patel and Arjun Pradipak were pleased with the opening day, noting that racing was completed on schedule.
