Lucknow Students Block Road Over Teacher Shortage; Minister Intervenes
More than one hundred students in Lucknow were upset because their government school did not have enough teachers.
They said it was hard to learn properly without teachers.
They were also unhappy about the food, the cleanliness and other things at their school.
They said they had complained before, but nobody fixed the problems.
So the students sat on a busy road, raised slogans and held up posters, stopping the traffic.
This created a very long traffic jam.
Police tried to convince the students to move, but they would not leave.
Then a very important man named Asim Arun, the minister in charge of social welfare for the state, stopped his car to talk to them.
He promised to fix the problems quickly and walked with the students to their school.
After his promise, the students ended their protest, and the cars could move again.
Over 100 students of Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Para blocked Mohan Road on Friday, protesting a shortage of teachers and other school issues.
The road blockade caused a major traffic jam on the busy route leading towards the Agra Expressway, with long queues of vehicles building up.
Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Minister and former IPS officer Asim Arun, travelling towards Kannauj, left his convoy to hear the students' concerns.
Students said the teacher shortage was affecting their studies and complained about food quality, cleanliness and other facilities, alleging earlier grievances were not addressed.
The students ended the protest after Arun assured prompt action, and traffic returned to normal.
