West Bengal Approves Rs 50,000 Grant for Unmarried Women
West Bengal has approved a new study grant for unmarried women.
It is called the Bhagini Nivedita Scheme.
Women pursuing higher education can receive money for three years.
They will get Rs 17,000 in each of the first two years.
In the third year, they will get Rs 16,000.
Altogether, the assistance adds up to Rs 50,000.
The scheme is planned to begin across the state in January 2027.
