Sazerac to Buy Au Vodka in Reported £500m Deal
Au Vodka £500m Sale: Founders Set for £100m Windfall · easterneye.biz

A big American drinks company called Sazerac has agreed to buy a vodka brand called Au Vodka.

Au Vodka started in a city called Swansea in Wales, when two friends decided to make vodka together.

The vodka is famous for its shiny gold bottles and bright flavours.

The deal is reported to be worth about £500 million, which is a huge amount of money.

The two friends who started the company could each get more than £100 million from the sale.

One of the founders, Charlie Morgan, was once famous for a different reason — as a teenager he was a ballboy at a football match and got kicked by a famous player.

The company grew very quickly and now makes more than £80 million in sales each year.

It also makes canned ready-to-drink drinks, which are very popular.

The deal is not finished yet, but it should be completed in a few weeks.

Sazerac wants to sell more of its drinks in the UK, and Au Vodka will help it do that.
